NOTE 1: The 2007 actuals below do not tie to the corresponding amounts on the financial statement derived from the Maryland Comprehensive Annual Report. We have taken the approach of reporting what we find in the budget and comparing it what is reported in the budget documents as 2008 appropriations and 2007 actual.
The state seems to be both using different definitions for major categories (e.g. education) and providing more granularity than the Comprehensive Annual Report.
NOTE 2: Even though we only report selected highlights of the budget, providing additional detail will not change any of our included statements.
