1. Earth's Annual Global Mean Energy Budget by J.T. Kiehl & E. Trenburth. This paper is a definitive attempt to estimate the Earth's radiation budget. We hear that there is going to be an update published shortly and we will change our numbers at that point.

2. SpectralCalc . This is an excellent starting point to understanding many details of the climate problem. We used it extensively to obtain the radiative absorption properties of greenhouse gases such as water, CO2, methane, etc. We also used it to understand the density profiles of these gases, the temperature and pressure profile of the Earth and properties of the solar spectrum.
